Galvanized Steel Grating
Our galvanized steel grating is a highly durable metal grate solution, also known as galvanized grating or galvanized bar grating. It is manufactured from mild carbon steel bearing bars and cross bars, welded by machine (electro-forged) or manually, then hot-dip galvanized. The zinc coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring long service life even in harsh environments. Our galvanized quality meets standards such as ASTM-A123 and BS EN ISO 1461:2022.

Types of Metal Grate / Steel Grating
We supply several types of metal grate including:
1.Welded (electro forged) steel grating: it is produced by rectangular bearing bars and twist cross bars. It is most common type.
2.Swage Locked steel grating:it is made by inserting hollow tube cross bars into pre-punched bearing bars and hydraulically compressing them for a secure connection. This design recesses the cross bars below the bearing bars’ surface, creating a uniform and attractive appearance.
3.Dovetail Pressure Locked Steel Grating: it’s feature deep rectangular cross bars and are made by inserting pre-punched bearing bars and cross bars into an “egg-crate” configuration, then deforming the cross bars under intense hydraulic pressure.
Steel Grating Bearing Bar
For our metal grate solutions the bearing bars and surface finish vary:
1.Plain steel grating: it is most common and economical type.
2.Serrated/anti-slip steel grating: it can provide better anti-slip property.
3.I type steel grating: it is similar with I beam, can support stronger load capacity. It is just popular in China, Korea, China-Taiwan, Japan.
Steel Grating Size
Galvanized steel grating and Stainless steel grating are available in a wide range of specification to suit different needs. Common bar grating specification include:
1. Bearing bar: 25×3, 25×5, 30×5,38x5mm are common size. The size can be measure by inch: 15/16’’ X 3/16’’, 1″ x 3/16″ and so on.
2.Spacing of bearing bar and cross bar:30*100mm, 34*34mm, 40*50mm, 30*50mm. Other common descriptions: 19w4, RS40, RS80
3.Size: we can do any size by your requirement. Many wholesalers often buy 1*6m or 3 ft* 20 ft, so they can cut then sell.
4.Galvanized layer: Common hot dip galvanized standard: ISO-1461-2009, ASTM-A123, BS729, we can meet.
Choosing the right steel grating type and specification according to project requirements can not only ensure durability and performance but also achieve cost optimization. As a professional steel grating manufacturer/supplier, If you need an accurate quotation or calculate the steel grating weigh, please provide your steel grating design.
Packing and Loading
In order to ensure that our galvanized steel grating arrive to each customer in good condition, we use strong packing belts to fix the steel grating to the pallet, and we will use belt to fix the goods to resist the shaking of the container. We will place desiccants to keep the inside of the container dry.

What Are The Advantages Of Galvanized Steel grating. How Should I Choose The Specifications And Models Of Galvanized Steel Plates.
Galvanized Steel Grating Advantages
1.Excellent Corrosion Resistance:The surface of galvanized steel grating is coated with zinc, which effectively prevents oxidation and corrosion, making it ideal for harsh environments such as wet, chemically corrosive, or coastal areas.
2.High Durability:Galvanizing forms a protective layer that prolongs the service life of the grating. Hot-dip galvanized steel grating typically has a service life of 20 years or more.
3.Aesthetic Appearance:Galvanizing gives it a bright surface finish, providing a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing appearance, making it suitable for areas where aesthetics are a concern, such as commercial or public spaces.
4.Low Maintenance Cost:The hot-dip galvanizing layer is durable and less prone to peeling, significantly reducing maintenance frequency and costs.
5.Strength and Load-Bearing Capacity:After galvanizing, the grating maintains the high strength of steel and has excellent load-bearing capacity. It is widely used in industrial platforms, stairs, walkways, etc.
6.Good Light Transmission and Ventilation:The mesh structure of steel grating allows air and light to pass through, improving ventilation in work environments and making it suitable for places that require natural lighting and ventilation.
7.Environmentally Friendly:The raw materials of galvanized steel grating are recyclable, and the hot-dip galvanizing process does not produce harmful substances, complying with environmental standards.
How to Choose the Specifications and Models of Galvanized Steel Grating
1.Determine the Usage Environment:Choose the appropriate galvanizing type based on the environment where the grating will be used. For outdoor or highly corrosive environments (such as chemical plants or coastal areas), hot-dip galvanizing is preferred. For milder environments, electro-galvanizing may be sufficient.
2.Consider Load-Bearing Requirements:Choose the thickness, flat steel height, and mesh spacing of the grating based on the load-bearing requirements of the project (e.g., pedestrian paths, industrial platforms, vehicle traffic areas). Higher load requirements will need thicker grating and tighter mesh spacing.
3.Select the Right Material:Select the material based on factors such as corrosion, temperature, and budget. In general, carbon steel galvanizing is suitable for standard environments, while stainless steel galvanizing is preferred for specialized industries (e.g., food or pharmaceutical industries).
4.Evaluate Installation Method:Choose the installation method based on the requirements. Welded steel grating is suitable for permanent, stable installations, while clamp-fixed grating is more convenient for disassembly and maintenance.
5.Reference Standards and Specifications:Refer to national or industry standards and specifications to choose the appropriate specifications and models of steel grating, such as China’s GB/T 700, or ASTM A36 in the United States.
6.Consider Aesthetic and Environmental Requirements:If the project has high aesthetic demands, galvanized steel grating is more suitable. Ensure the selected galvanized steel grating meets the required environmental standards if there are sustainability requirements.
7.Cost-Effectiveness Analysis:Balance the performance and cost of the grating based on your budget and desired service life. Hot-dip galvanizing may have a higher initial cost but offers longer durability, making it suitable for long-term investments. Electro-galvanizing is more cost-effective but suitable for less demanding applications.
